Truthfulness   consists   in   uttering   words   that   cause   no   harm to   any   living   thing   (291).

Even   an   untruth   is   equal   to   truth   if   it   saves   others from   wrongful   harm   (292).

Do   not   utter   that   which   your   conscience   knows   to   be   untrue,
otherwise   you   will   be   hurt   by   your   own   conscience   (293).

  He   who   consciously   abstains   from   untruth   will   live in   the   hearts   of   all   mankind   (294).

He   who   remains   consciously   truthful,   is   higher   than   those who   perform   charity   and   penance   (295).

Truthfulness   brings   the   highest   repute   because   all   other virtues   flow   from   it   (296).

One   who   adheres   to   the   truth   and   truth   alone, has   no   need   to   seek   other   virtues   (297).

One   is   cleansed   in   body   by   bath,   but   one   is  cleansed   in   mind   only   by   truthfulness   (298).

The   lamp   dispels   external   darkness,   but   for   the   holy  , truthfulness   alone   is   the   inner   light   (299).

In   all   the   experiences   we   have   encountered,   no   virtue ranks   higher   than   truth   (300).
