The following are the various output aids provided in the Software Package to be of use to the disabled, specially the Visually Impaired :
(a) NORMAL INK OUTPUT ON PAPER : This can be in any Indian language or in English. These may meet the needs of a nandicapped person in his study or employment environment eg preparing letters or reports which are to be read by the sighted.
(b) BRAILLE OUTPUT : This can be in standard Bharati Braille in any Indian language or in standard English Braille. This output can be in paper embossed form or stored as a file on a floppy disk to be taken for embossing to any location where an embosser is available. Braille output (standard English Braille) can also be seen on the screen for use by those who are learning or teaching Braille. This can be seen by typing in letters and other characters in tr MS-Word screen, after selecting the Braille Font (which should have been installed) and an appropriate isplay size. By selecting (as a block) the Braille display, and changing the font to any normal English Font eg Ariel or Times New Roman, the Braille display will automatically be displayed as normal English text and vice versa.
(c) AUDIO OUTPUT : Files created in any language
through the use of this Software, can
be read out by the Computer to the Visually Impaired User. What
is so read can also be recorded on a cassette
tape and retained by him for being replayed
later on a cassette player. A Walkman player with cassettes that he can
own or borrow could be standard equipment for
the Visually Impaired student.
