18,19,20.Surapanakha   saw   that   Ravana   who   long   ago   practiced
austerities   for   ten   thousand   years   and   offered   his   heads   to   Brahma
who   granted   him   immunity   from   death   by   gods,   danavas,   gandharvas,
fiends,   birds   and   serpents   except   human   beings;   who   used   to   spill   the
holy   soma   drink   glorified   through   sacred   texts   and   oblations   by   brahmins
in   sacrifices.

source   of   terror   for   all   living   beings,   cruel   and   with   great   might.

23,24.Surpanakha   approached   Ravana,   the   delight   of   the   rakshasas,
highly   blessed,   like   a   time   spirit,   slayer   of   enemies,   surrounded   by
ministers,   with   celestial   robes,   ornaments   and   garlands   and   seated   on   a
throne.

25.Surpanakha   who   was   bewildered   with   fear   and   covetousness   and
roamed   fearlessly   and   was   disfigured   by   Lakshmana   said   the   following
exceptionally   harsh   words   to   Ravana.
