çúªç¨áèõÐæÐÆ ãéõæÐîæè ç¨÷

åáåÐêôõÐæÐÆ   to my beloved
åùªæèéë   seeking absence
îåõÐåÐîê䪠  having agreed
çòåÐê   pallor
öäª  my
çúªµ   nature
áèõÐæÐÆ   to whom
ãéõæÐîæè   may I complain
ç¨÷   to others

Having agreed to my lord's seeking his absence,
to whom can I complain about the paleness of
my body (1181).

íôõÐ êåÐêèõР  that he is the giver (cause of this pallor)

êéæáèùª   with arrogance (this pallor)

The pallor caused by separation from my lord,
now takes the liberty of extending all over
my body (1182).

åèÑ몠  modesty
íôõÐ âæèúªìèõР  he took away
éæëªëè÷è   in return
îåè±ëª   love sickness
çòéù±ëª   pallor

My lord has bartered my beauty and charm for my
pallor and lovesickness (1183).

ãóªÓô䪠 ëäª  I always recall his words
áèäª   I
ãéõçªçÊ   speak
íôõÐê¨÷몠  his qualities
Íùª   O!
æóªó몠  cheating attitude
ç¨÷îôè   or any other ill feeling
çò窵   (for this) pallor

Though I recall his words and skills,yet my body is
cheated by this spreading pallor (1184).

There goes my lover and here comes the pallor
of my body (1185).

çèõÐæÐÆ몠  awaiting
¬Õîóîçèùª   like darkness
âæèúªæ䪠  of my husband
ËáæÐÆ í÷ª÷몠  the parting embrace
çèõÐæÐÆ몠  looks forward to
çò窵   (this) pallor

Just as darkness awaits the failure of light,
this pallor awaits the moment when my lover
is away (1186).

íóªó¨æÐâæèóª ô÷ªî÷ çò窵

µùªù¨æР æ¨ìåÐîêäª   in tight embrace I was
µéìâçáõÐåÐîê䪠  for a moment I moved away
íôªôóô¨ùª   in the interregnum
íóªó¨æÐâæèóª  ô÷ªî÷  with all fury and force
çò窵   pallor (has overcome me)

I lay within my lover's embrace; but the very moment I moved away, this pallor took over my body (1187).

People blame me for becoming pale, but never blame him who caused it by leaving me (1188).

çìªì觪Ơ  and be in that state

åáçªç¨êÐêèõР  the one who got my consent for separation
åùª å¨éùáõР ÍôõÐ  he is well
öä¨äª   if

This paleness of the suffering from separation is worthwhile as long as I know that my lord is well and prosperous, wherever he is (1189).

I will not mind the comment on the paleness that comes of separation as long as people do not blame
my lord for havingcaused it (1190).
