åëæÐÆ øÈ¨á   having come to stay with one (the lady love)
îòúª âòäª÷èõР  left for a far-away place
ãóªó¨   pining away about this
å×ëùõР  fragrant flowers
åèú¨ä   become ashamed (on seeing)
æúª   my eyes
 


My husband left me to suffer and now my eyes are ashamed even to look at flowers (1231).

My eyes, now pale and filled with tears, proclaim to
the world that my husband is no longer loving (1232).

My armlets slip from my shrunken arms and my shoulders have weakened (from the sorrow of the parting) (1234).

My weakened shoulders and shrunken arms from which
the armlets slip, speak to the cruelty of my
husband (1235).

I grieve since my shrunken shoulders and slipping armlets make for my husband being said to be cruel, unable to bear this censure (1236).

ãéõêÐÊ   having conveyed

O! Mind! Will you not carry to my beloved the true
message of my wasting shoulders and arms which are
leading to so many rumours and (bringing him back to me) achieve greatness ? (1237)

 Ë᧪æ¨á   that embraced his beloved
éææéó   the arms
ÃæÐæ   having relaxed a little
çòåÐêÊ   became pale
éçëªâêèï   (wearing) the golden bangles
îçéê   maiden
Åêùª   forehead

 
Even when I relaxed my tight embrace a little, the temple of this bangled maiden turned pale (1238).

ËáæÐÆ  ¬éì  when embracing closely
êúªôó¨   cool breeze
îçèÈ   entered through a gap
çò窵  ã÷ª÷  pallor-ridden
îçéê   maiden
âçÕëéÈæР æúª  large, cool eyes (became)

 
During my embrace, while a whiff of air came
in between,the large cool eyes of this maiden turned pale (1239).

Seeing the forehead growing pale, her eyes too
experienced suffering and grew pale, alas! (1240)
