VERSES 1311 TO 1320

µùô¨ ÅÑæÐæëª     Feigned Anger
 
âçúªú¨áùèõÐ öùªùèÕëª æúªú¨äª âçèÊãúªçõР 1311
åúªîúäª çõêÐêå¨äª ëèõе

âçúª ¬áùèõР  women by nature
öùªùèÕ몠  all
æúªú¨äª   with their eyes
âçèÊãúªçõР  generally enjoy
åúªîú䪠  I will not seek
çõêÐê   (seen) by other women
å¨äª ëèõе   your chest

With so many women having feasted their eyes on you,
I will not seek your embrace (1311).

In the midst of our feigned quarrel, my husband sneezed
as if to invoke my blessing for a long life (an ancient practice in Tamil society) (1312) .

When I adorned her tresses with a curved garland of flowers, she would say angrily that I have done this
to (spite) another woman (1313).
 
Another meaning  
When I wore a garland, she would ask in anger which
woman I sought to impress (1313).

If I proclaimed that I loved her more than any one else, she would ask, "than whom, than whom ?" (1314).

The moment I declared that we would not part in this lifetime, her eyes were filled with tears (thinking of the next birth!) (1315).

When I assert that I remember her in separation, she asks in feigned anger `you remember only after you forget' (1316).

My sneeze brought her good wishes, but promptly followed by the question as to which woman it was
whose thought caused the sneeze (1317).

When I subdued my urge to sneeze, she asked me
whether I was trying to hide my thoughts of the
other women (1318).

I tried to conciliate her in her anger, but she
asked me whether this was how I got around other
