íæȪôèéõêÐ    those who dig
ê觪Æëª    bear
å¨ùëªîçèù    as the earth
êëªéë     ¬æȪôèõР          those scornful
âçè×êÐêùª    bear
êéù    virtue
 
It   is     virtue   to   bear   with   those   who   are   scornful   even   as
the   earth   bears   with   those   who   dig   it.

It   is   always   good   to   forgive   insults   but   to   forget  them
is   even   better.

¬äªéë±óª    ¬äªéë    poorest of the poor
ô¨ÕåÐâêèõèùª    neglects hospitality
ôäªéë±óª     ôäªéë    strongest of the strong
ëìôèõÐçª    ignorant
âçèé÷;    patient
 
He   who   neglects   hospitality   is   the   poorest   of   the   poor   but   he
who   is   patient   with   the   ignorant   is   strongest   of   the   strong.

å¨é÷    ãéìéë all virtue
婧ªæèéë    to retain
îôúªïäª    seeks
âçèé÷     ãéìéë    patience
îçè÷ª÷¨    guardedly
øÇæ窠   çÌëª;    excercise
 
He   who   seeks   to   retain   all   virtue   must   always   exercise   patience.

To   react   to   anyone   doing   harm   is   not   considered   praiseworthy
but   he   who   shows   forbearance   is   valued   as   gold.

øÕåèéó    lasts a day

âçèäª×åР    Êéú±ëª    everlasting
µæȪ    prestige
 
The   joy   of   vengeance   lasts   but   a   day   but   everlasting   prestige
comes   to   one   who   is     patient.

Do   not   grieve   for   the   harm   brought   to   you   by   others.
It   will   be   well   that   you   refrain   from   doing   such   harm.

With   patience   one   can   overcome   any   harm   committed
by   the   proud.

Ê÷åÐêèõ¨äª    the saint

îåè÷ªæ¨÷ª     çôõÐ    who endures
 
He   who   endures   the   vile   words   coming   from   the   unjust
is   as   pure   as   the   saint.

Those   who   endures   bitter   words   spoken   by   others   are   greater
than   those  who  do penance   by   fasting.
