âêè짪æ÷ªæ                   do not commence
öôªô¨éä±ëª                 any task
öóªó÷ªæ                         do not underestimate the enemy
Ë÷ª×몠                         suitable to surround the army
¬ì몠                           the right place
æúªìç¨äª    íùªùÊ       unless assessed properly
 
It   is   unwise   to   take   on   the   enemy   until   the   right   location presents   itself,  and  unwise   too,  to  underestimate   him   (491).

Even   a   weaker   force   can   overcome   a   more   powerful   one,   if   the  right   place   of   operations   is   chosen   (493).

Selecting   a   well-protected   location   will   foil   the   plans of   the   enemy   (494).

The   crocodile   will   conquer   its   enemies   in   deep   water, but   outside   water,   it   will   be   defeated   (495).

Øìè       will not move
å¨ùêÐÊ       on the ground
 
The   wheeled   chariot   will   not   run   on   the   seas,   nor   will   the   ship   move   on   the   ground   (496).

Even   one   with   a   large   army   will   fail   against   a   smaller   one if   the   latter   is   located   in     a   vantage   point   due   to   frustration   (498).

Even   if   they   do   not   have   their   own   forts   or   other   defences, the   enemies   cannot   be   dislodged   from   their   homes   (499).

Even   the   mighty   elephant   that   has   tusks   to   attack   soldiers  having   spears,   when   its   feet   are   stuck   in   a   marsh,   can   be killed   by   a   fox   (500).
