ë¨æ¨Ä몠  if in excess
Æé÷á¨Ä몠  less than the optimum

Ëêùè   et cetra (bile and phlegm)
öúªú¨á   have laid down

The learned say that disease comes of an excess or a deficiency of the three humours (vata - pitta - kapham or wind,bile and phlegm) (941).

If one eats only when an earlier meal is digested, there will be no need for medicine (942).

Eating only when what has been eaten earlier is fully digested, and eating in right measure will give a long
and healthy life (943).

One should eat only when the earlier meal is fully
digested,and one is really hungry and avoid food that
is disagreeable to the body (944).

will not suffer disease (945).

¬éõáè䪠  the eater, in whom
æúª  dwells
îåè᪠  disease
 
Just like pleasure resides in one who eats the optimum, realising such intake is good, disease dwells in the eater who is given to gluttony (946).

Eating in excess and eating what is disagreeable (vis-a-vis one's appetite and also the power (fire)
of digestion) will lead to diseases without end (947).

The physician should diagnose the illness, causes therefor, and the method of cure and then set about treatment (948).

In deciding the treatment, the physician considers the condition of the patient, the progress (severity) of the disease, and the appropriate time (neither premature nor belated) (949).

Good treatment of a disease turns on four factors- the patient,the doctor, the medicine and the nursing attendant (950).
