CEREBRAL PALSY

A child stricken with Cerebral Palsy may suffer from locomotor disabilities also.

Some children will learn to walk, though a little late. Some can be helped with wheel chair, walker or trolley. Only very severely affected children do not  walk at all.

As mentioned earlier, it is important that the child stricken with  cerebral palsy keeps changing his body position, through slow and   smooth movements to prevent Contractures. Some of the movements that such a child could work out with guidance, are shown below.

Exercise is essential for any child with locomotor disability whether caused by congenital deformity , polio, paralysis, cerebral palsy, stroke or amputation. Click HERE to view details of the exercises.
